A Monument to Arizona's Founding Father
Charles D. Poston devoted his life to Arizona — now we're building a solar pyramid temple in his honor. Help us make it real.
The Man Behind the Vision
Charles Debrille Poston was Arizona's first delegate to the United States Congress and the man most responsible for Arizona's establishment as a territory in 1863 — earning him the enduring title "Father of Arizona."
A restless visionary, Poston later embraced Zoroastrianism — the ancient Persian faith of fire and solar worship — and dreamed of building a sun temple atop Poston Butte near Florence, Arizona, where he could honor the light that shaped the desert he loved.
He died in 1902, largely forgotten, his temple never built. We intend to change that.

The Poston Sun Temple will rise as a stone pyramid in the Arizona desert — its apex aligned to the rising sun, its interior housing a contemplative worship chamber open to all who wish to reflect on history, light, and the human spirit.
Solar-aligned pyramid design
Oriented to the solstice sunrise, as Poston envisioned.
Inspired by Poston's Zoroastrian faith
A living tribute to the ancient reverence for light.
A place of reflection and history
Open to visitors, students, and seekers of all backgrounds.
Poston shaped Arizona's destiny yet faded from public memory. His story deserves to be told — and experienced — by every generation.
Not a statue on a pedestal — a temple you can enter, sit inside, and feel the sun move through. A monument that breathes.
Bringing Arizona's founding story to life for students, historians, and curious souls who want to understand where this land came from.
