 The Poston Sun Temple Foundation Is Endeavoring to Honor the "Father of Arizona," Charles Debrille Poston not only with the Cultural Arts, but by Creating "Sun Temples For World Peace" in the Southwest U.S. We Also En-Vision the Education and Implementation of Solar Energy, Renewable Energy, and Water Purification for Indigenous (and Other) People of the U.S., as inspired by Poston's Good Work for Native Americans in the 1800's (see accompanying articles).  In 1863, President Lincoln signed the Organic Act, as it was known, into  law. To mark the occasion, Poston presented Lincoln with a US$1500  inkwell commissioned from Tiffany & Co. and made from Arizona  silver. Poston was appointed Indian Agent, during which time he helped  pass legislation to provide funds to irrigate Indian lands. He was  elected territorial delegate a year later in July of 1864, becoming the  first man to represent Arizona in the Congress of the United States.
